Fans of fun and flavorful food, this forum is for you! Along Life's Way is all about learning, and I'm on a mission to learn as much as I can about what I put into my body--where it came from, ways it can be used, and, most importantly, its effect on not just my physical health, but my mental and emotional health too!
But first, let's set the proper expectations here--this is NOT a home for healthy-only foods and recipes. Because let's be honest, that's just not how I eat. I never turn down a night of good beer and hand-tossed meat lovers' pizza, and my love of baking has me eating white chocolate chip cookie dough more often than I'd like to admit. But that's OK, because those splurges are key to my happiness!
By better understanding the origins, nutritional value, and both positives and pitfalls of the food we eat, we'll be equipping ourselves to make decisions that leave us feeling good--whether that's physically good after picking a lower-sodium salad dressing (any other bloaters in the room??), or experiencing the mental good that comes from a slice of your favorite pie (aka, pecan, amiright?) on Thanksgiving.
So here, you'll find fast facts from my research into my favorite foods, along with plenty of recipes! A varied, balanced diet is both healthy and helps keep our COVID-quarantine lives a bit more interesting, so I encourage you fellow foodies (and drinkies!) to share anything and everything--whether it's food facts, recipes, questions, or recommendations. I know I have a lot to learn from you, and I'm excited to hear about your favorite foods and change-up my weekly meal plans with your recipes!
